Staying in touch

We are currently in the process of developing a new project for people who are hospitalized at the Hôpital de réadaptation Villa Medica or at the CHUM. It consists of touch-enabled computers that can be transported from one patient to another. The goal of the project is to facilitate communication between the person who is hospitalized and their loved ones, particularly when they live in a remote area, for example. It’s recognized that having a support network facilitates positive growth. Therefore, we believe that such a tool would allow patients to stay in touch with their loved ones, which would increase their motivation.

Furthermore, it would be a good communication tool for distributing information on various treatments. It would even be possible to produce sets of information to accompany the patient during their rehabilitation.

We are currently performing a trial run of this project at the Hôpital de réadaptation Villa Medica. If the results are positive, we will gradually add computers in other hospitals as well.
